Service Tips and Tricks Support

1) Check the alignment of the spray heads and rotors periodically to ensure they are covering the proper areas. Click here for instructions on how to adjust a Hunter rotor

2) Watering in the early hours of the morning is advised to prevent fungus on mulch beds and grass, and also to have ideal water pressure in municipally fed Irrigation Systems.  You may notice a change in water pressure if you try to run the system while taking a shower.

3) Make sure the back up battery in your clock is present and working by checking the time on the controller after a power outage.

4) Pay attention to the weather!  Spring time in Columbus, OH is often a rainy time for us, and the irrigation does not need to run as frequently.  If you're too busy to adjust the controller, then have us out for system checks and we will take care of it for you!

5) Wet spots in the yard can indicate that a station may be running too long, or in some cases that there may be a potential for a leak.  If you're unsure, try turning the time down on that particular station first.  If the wet spot does not clear up, then have us come over to check it out.

6) Check to make sure the rain sensor is working by looking at the screen on the controller.  After it rains, our controllers have an indicator that the rain sensor has kicked the system off.  If you have a wireless rain sensor, there will be two red lights indicating that the system will not water.  If your system was not installed by us, or you're still unsure how to check your rain sensor, email a service technician with the make of your particular controller and we will walk you through it.
